How to create Presentation Slides and Reports of Seminar

There is no special instructions to create presentation or report. Students should frame their presentation and report according to the topic they have taken. The presentation and report should convey all the relevant information in the topic they have selected. However Introduction, Conclusion and References should be there in all presentations and reports.

SEMINAR PRESENTATION STARTS FROM JULY SECOND WEEK

All S7 students should start preparing for their seminar presentation. The presentation is scheduled to begin from second week of July 2015. Students should prepare a seminar report of their  topic by themselves( Dont copy paste the contents of base paper, if any sentence or paragraph found similar to base paper then the seminar will be rejected and  that student should present seminar on another new topic given by the corresponding staff in charge). The Seminar Report should be prepared in Latex.
Reports in MS Office / LibOffice / Other document writers  will not be permitted.

Student should prepare presentation slides with a minimum of 15 to a maximum of 25 slides.
(Presentation slides should be prepared only in Latex Beamer).

All S7 student should enter their student details and academic details in the given google form for the purpose of placements / academic activities. Last date for submission is 30 - 06 -2015.

Please provide the exact details(personal details and marks). Any wrong entry may lead to cancellation of your placement candidature.

S7 Registration

All students should submit their internship certificate in original and two copies during s7 registration to the staff advisor. Students who fail to submit the certificates will not able to register.

SEMINAR - CUSAT SYLLABUS

Students shall individually prepare and submit a seminar report on a topic of current relevance related to the field of Computers either hardware or software. The reference shall include standard journals, conference proceedings, reputed magazines and textbooks, technical reports and URLs. The references shall be incorporated in the report following IEEE standards reflecting the state-of-the-art in the topic selected. Each student shall present a seminar for about 30 minutes duration on the selected topic. The report and presentation shall be evaluated by a team of internal experts comprising of 3 teachers based on style of presentation, technical content, adequacy of references, depth of knowledge and overall quality of the seminar report.

The email's subject should be named as SEMINAR TOPICS - <YOUR NAME>  <ROLL NO> <BATCH>

E - MAIL SUBJECT FIELD - EXAMPLE:  SEMINAR TOPICS - ABHIJITH  - 1 - B BATCH


The email should be attached with a word document / pdf file in the following format

Page 1:  LIST OF  SEMINAR TOPICS  with serial numbers. (Each student should submit atleast 5 seminar topics which is not listed in the rejected topics )

The emails should also be attached with the base papers of your listed seminar topics  in pdf format.(not compulsory)

എങ്ങനെ ആണ് ഒരു സെമിനാർ ടോപ്പിക്ക് സെലക്ട്‌ ചെയ്യേണ്ടത് ?

അതിനായുള്ള പത്തു സ്റെപ്പുകൾ ചുവടെ നല്കുന്നു.

1. ആദ്യമായി  കമ്പ്യൂട്ടർ സയൻസ് , സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയർ എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ്, നെറ്റ്‌വർക്ക് എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ് ആൻഡ്‌ സെക്യൂരിറ്റി    തുടങ്ങിയ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇഷ്ടപെട്ട  വിഷയം തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുക..

2. അതിനു ശേഷം നിങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ആ വിഷയത്തിലെ പുതിയ developments  or  research  fields  എന്തൊക്കെയാണെന്ന്  ഗൂഗിളിൽ സെർച്ച്‌ ചെയ്യുക.

3. ആ വിഷയത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പുതുമ നിറഞ്ഞ, എന്നാൽ 20 മിനിറ്റ് കൊണ്ട് അവതരിപ്പിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന ഒരു നല്ല വിഷയം തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുക.(ഓർക്കുക..നിങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത വിഷയം ഒരുപാട് ലളിതം ആകാണോ(too  simple ) , ഒരുപാട് സങ്കീർണം ആകാണോ (too tough ) പാടില്ല.)

4. അതിനു ശേഷം ieee , acm, sciencedirect  തുടങ്ങിയ ജേർണലുകളിൽ ഈ വിഷയവുമായി ബന്ധപെട്ട റിസർച്ച് പേപ്പറുകൾ തിരയുക. 

ഉദാഹരണമായി  നിങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത വിഷയം "ഗ്രിഡ് കമ്പ്യുട്ടിങ്ങ് " ആണെന്ന് വെക്കുക. ieee  സൈറ്റിൽ കേറി സെർച്ച്‌ ടാബിൽ grid  computing  എന്ന് ടൈപ്പ്  ചെയ്തു  സെർച്ച്‌ ബട്ടണിൽ അമർത്തുക. 

അപ്പോൾ grid  computing  ആയി ബന്ധപെട്ട എല്ലാ റിസർച്ച് പേപ്പറുകളും ലഭിക്കും. ഓരോ പേപ്പറുകളും പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച വർഷം ചുവടെ നല്കിയിട്ടുണ്ടാകും. അതിൽ നിന്ന്  2013 , 2014, 2015  വർഷങ്ങളിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച പുതിയ പേപ്പർ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നത് അഭികാമ്യം.

5. തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ഓരോ പേപ്പറുകൾടെയും  സംഗ്രഹം (abstract ) വായിക്കുക. അതിൽ നിന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത വിഷയവുമായി ഏറ്റവും അടുത്ത് നില്കുന്ന പേപ്പർ സെലക്ട്‌ ചെയ്യുക. ഇപ്പോൾ സെലക്ട്‌ ചെയ്ത ഈ പേപ്പർ ആണ് നിങ്ങളുടെ base  പേപ്പർ . ആ abstract  content  ഉള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ base  പേപ്പർ വെബ്‌ അഡ്രസ്‌ ലിങ്ക് ആണ് നിങ്ങൾ തയ്യാറാകുന്ന വേർഡ്‌ ഡോകുമെന്റിൽ , നിങ്ങളുടെ ടോപ്പിക്കിനു താഴെ ആയി റഫറൻസ്  വെക്കേണ്ടത് .

6. ഇത് പോലെ നിങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ടോപ്പിക്കുമായി  ബന്ധമുള്ള മറ്റു ജേർണൽ പേപ്പറുകൾ ലഭിക്കുകയാണെങ്കിൽ അതും റഫറൻസ് ആയി വെക്കാവുന്നതാണ്.

7. നിങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ഓരോ വിഷയത്തിനും ചുരങ്ങിയതു 3 റഫറൻസ് പേപ്പറുകൾ എങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടാവുന്നത് അഭികാമ്യം.

8. ഇത് പോലെ തന്നെ മറ്റു 4 സെമിനാർ ടോപ്പിക്കുകൾ കൂടി കണ്ടെത്തുക.

9. അതിനു ശേഷം ഈ ബ്ലോഗിൽ ഉള്ള ഇ- മെയിൽ ഫോർമാറ്റ്‌ പോസ്റ്റിൽ നോക്കി , വേണ്ട ഫോർമാറ്റിൽ , നിങ്ങൾ തയാറാക്കിയ വേർഡ്‌ ഡോക്കുമെന്റ് മെയിൽ ചെയ്യുക.
10. നിങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ടോപ്പിക്കുകളുടെ base പേപ്പർ മെയിലിനൊപ്പം അറ്റാച്ച് ചെയ്തു അയക്കുന്നത് ഉത്തമം.

If you get a reply mail that your topics are rejected, then resend another 5 topics  within two days. 
Once your topic is approved, you cannot change the topic in any circumstances. 

STUDENTS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO CHOOSE FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR SEMINAR TOPICS.

If a student submits a previous year seminar topic, the topic will be straight away rejected and the student's topic submission mark will be reduced. So ensure that the topic you are senting is not listed in previous year topics/ rejected topics.

Note: The topics are reviewed by a panel of faculties. The review panel has the right to approve or reject any topic in various circumstances by considering various academic strategies and measures. Students have no right to question the review panel about the approval or rejection of  any topics. The decision made by review panel is final and irrevocable.
